SIGH....won't get my new car any time soon.
My new VW MOVE UP 1.0 BMT in black had a 3 month delivery time.
But now here 2 weeks before SMC CARS in Gladsaxe where to deliver it, I got a letter from them, saying it will be another 2 months before they deliver it. So a total of 5 months delivery on the car. (built at Volkswagen in Slovakia).
It reads as follows:
"Unfortunately, we must inform you that there is a delivery delay on your new car, but we expect to deliver the car circa: Tuesday 27-11-2012.
... We can also confirm that we will of course do our utmost in an effort to obtain your new car as soon as possible ..... "
Of course I am disappointed. Especially since they notifie me 2 weeks before delivery should have taken place (they must have know for a while). And then also the delivery delay is so much. Almost 70% delay. So is the car apparently still only on a computer screen...and not even build.
Got a friend how has worked his whole life in the car industry, he believe that they have ordered too few cars from the importer, as success selling the VW UP has been huge.
I see several VW UP's daily on the streets now.
Or maby they decided to deliver cars faster to the rest of europe....
With the new delivery date, I get a car I just shouldn't drive home from the dealer. Because they deliver it with summer tires. So if there is snow, ice, etc when I get it, it would be dangerous to drive it homs. And not good to have summer tires on the car from november-april.
They could at least cough up some winter tires and rims as a compensation for the massive increase in delivery time.
