Råsyltede ribs - Pickled red currant berries

Har været lidt på rov i min granfasters have. Fik plukket et kilo ribs.
Kiggede lidt på mulighederne for at bruge dem, og valget faldt på RÅSYLTEDE RIBS.
Den er ret simpel... Kan nydes til desserter eller kødretter.
En gang vaniljeis med dette til er ikke helt dårligt....

Got about a kilogram of red currant berries from my great aunts garden.
Decided on trying a recipe for pickled currant berries. It's very simpel....
Can be eaten along with some kind of dessert or meat course.

Du skal bruge / You need

  • 1 kg ribs/red currant berries
  • 300 gram sukker / 300 grams of sugar
  • 1,5 dl vand / 1 1/2 deciliter of water
  • 2 tsk atamon flydende eller pulver / 2 tsp of Atamon or other food preservation. (preservative)

  1. Bærene plukkes af stilkene og skylles efterfølgende for skidt og evt smådyr.
    The berries is picked from the stems, washed and any kind of dirt and tiny animals removed.

  2. Vandet koges med sukker og atamonen - The water is boiled with the water, sugar and preservation till the sugar is all disolved.

  3. De rene bær ligges i atamonskyllede glas. Og den KOLDE lage af vand sukker og atamon hældes over dem. Glassene lukkes til.
    The clean berries is put into jars that has been rinsed on the inside with boiling water and some of the preservative. The now COOLED mix of water, sugar and "atamon/preservative" is poured over the berries into the jars. Seal the glasses.
